Do you think intelligence is a product of consciousness or visa-versa?
(or none of the above)

It seems that you want to tell riddles, as you never say what you think yourself. I don't used to solve riddles, except when i have to. So i can say only something in general, which necessarily doesn't solve that riddle. When we consider consciousness to be a sum of all abilities, then intelligence certainly cannot be a product of it. Consciousness to be a product of intelligence is a kind of weird suggestion, as intelligence is not anything very basic in nature, and the more primitive organism certainly didn't have intelligence. Intelligence may though be a product of the most important aspect of consciousness, the awareness.

Surely intelligence can be something primitive? (just look at slime molds: discovermagazine.com/2009/jan/071 whether they could be considered conscious is another argument though). Without consciousness there can be no intelligence, as without the sum of all abilities there wouldn't be any intelligent processes, only incomplete arguments. Without intelligence can we really have consciousness? as without the intelligence needed to realise consciousness are you really conscious? This all comes down to your definition of both intelligence and consciousness (i'm sure everything does fundamentally!) sorry, didn't mean to riddle, just tired

It depends how we define intelligence. If we consider that whatever logical operation is intelligence, then we likely cannot have consciousness without intelligence.
I rather posted this to pump up the last active topic, as the recent spam somehow messed up the chronological order of the posts.

Pump again, another spam... and another... I think some bot has learned to cope with captcha. If the spam would be too frequent, it might be necessary to not allow anonymous posting, which i don't want to do, and by now it still can be managed,
PS The Toward the Science of Consciousnes conference schedule was sent to me by the Arizzona University, this conference would be held in June at Hong Kong, but I cannot afford to go. I have no idea where they got my email, but they seem to somewhat know me.
I use this as a bump message just to show in what thread the last post was, so it doesn't mean that there is any new post in the forum when i update this thread.
